Guru Dutt, born as Vasanth Kumar Shivashankar Padukone on 9th July 1927, was a celebrated actor, director, producer of the Hindi films of the 1950s and 1960s. Due to the ideals portrayed in his films he is considered to be a man ahead of his time. He is one of the greatest icons of commercial Indian cinema.

He made less than fifty films in his career, but they are believed to be the best from the Golden Age of Bolywood. His films had a unique ability to reach out to the common man and also had mesmerising musical scores. His films, Pyaasa (1957) and Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959), are regarded as his best work.

His timeless masterpiece, Pyaasaa, considered to be a landmark classic in the history of Indian Cinema, has been digitally restored by Ultra Media and Entertainment Company Pvt Ltd recently. Needless to say Ultra Mintage World is Ultra Media and Entertainment’s Venture Group Company.

The restored version of the Film Pyaasaa was nominated in the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, where it competed with 20 other classical films for the Best Restored Film Award.

Guru Dutt is considered to be one of the greatest film directors of all the time and his films Pyaasaa and Kaagaz ke Phool are now included among the greatest films of all time, both by Time magazine's "All-TIME" 100 best movies.

Guru Dutt and his movies now have a cult following not only in India but also in Germany, France and Japan. His films are well received even in their re-releases and go full house in all of these countries.
