Maitland Coin and Money Show’s founder Jason Lowery started collecting coins at a very young age himself and today owns the Orlando Coin Exchange on South Orange Avenue. Jason believes that the future of the hobby depends on the youth and they need to be encouraged. The Central Florida Coin Club has a Young Numismatists program dedicated specifically to youth. Free books of old pennies were offered to youngsters during the show. Another dealer offered some coins for free to young collectors.
About 25 to 35 dealers sold collectibles like a 1919 city of Detroit Soldier's Memorial Medal, leather postcards, stock certificates and more. World coins, silver coins, coins filed by date and type were all offered at the show.
