Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is the largest and most ornate Hindu Temple, located at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the largest and tallest of the surviving temples at the temple site of Khajuraho in central India. The Kandariya Mahadeva temple; is dedicated to Lord Shiva, represented by linga in the main shrine known as the womb chamber located at the heart of the building.The Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is one of the best examples of temples preserved from the medieval period in India. It is one of the most luxurious examples of religious art, compared to the Renaissance architecture of Europe. The Temples of Kandariya Mahadeva Temple; is mentioned in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1986.
