Lesotho is a country in the middle of South Africa. The Loti (plural: Maloti) is the currency of the Kingdom of Lesotho. The name derives from the Sesotho a Southern Bantu language of the Sotho-Tswana group loti which means mountain.The Lesotho 20 Maloti Banknote is part of 1994-2006 Issues. It is green, and it measures 135 x 70 mm. The obverse side shows the seated Moshoeshoe I holding (knobkierie); a coat of arms with a crocodile on a shield flanked by Basotho horses, an agave plant, and flowers as a registration device, an outline Basotho shield, and lance (assegai) and club (knobkierie).
The reverse side shows an agave plant and flowers, mountains, huts, cattle, smiling young boy wearing a hat. It has a variety of security threads, and the watermark has a coat of arms design.
