Jhalkaribai was a women soldier and one of the most respected women in India who played a crucial role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 CE. She rose, to the position of a prominent advisor to the queen, Rani of Jhansi. It is said that she learn horse riding, the art of weaponry, and to fight like a warrior, at a very young age. She learned archery, wrestling, and shooting from her husband PuranKori.PuranKori was a soldier in the army of Raja Gangadhar Rao the husband of Rani Lakshmibai. When Rani Laxmibai came to know about her bravery, they became a great companion. Rani Laxmibai added Jhalkaribai to her group Durga Dal, soon, Jhalkari gained an important position in Durga Dal and often took an important decision on behalf of the queen. Jhalkaribai stands like a pillar to save her motherland and beloved Jhansi during the revolt of 1857.
