2016 Coin & Currency Set’s Bank Note Variations in High Demand
2016-07-05 Tue
Over the last three years, the U.S. Mint’s annual American $1 Coin and Currency Set has become surprisingly very popular. This is majorly because of the introduction of Native American $1 coin with Enhanced Uncirculated finish. This year’s release is very special as the 2013 series $1 banknote from the set would belong to one of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks. Collectors are looking to buy sets with notes from specific cities. Some are looking to make a set of twelve Coin & Currency Sets, each from a different Fed bank. Others have collected notes from almost all of the twelve banks.
A unique code appears at the start of a note’s serial number and the centre of the Federal Reserve seal. For example, the letter “L” means that the bill was issued in San Francisco.
Since the notes are in demand, the Mint will offer them with low serial numbers.
Out of the 75,000 units, 25,744 have already been sold.
