Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy, usually referred to in English as Leo Tolstoy, was a Russian writer; he was one the finest authors of all times. He was the master of realistic fiction and one of the world's greatest novelists. He wrote many novels, short stories, plays, and essays. His most famous work is the novel war, and 'War and Peace and Anna Karenina'.These two novels are his greatest novels of all time and a pinnacle of realist fiction. He received a nomination for the Nobel Prize in Literature from 1902 to 1906 and for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1901, 1902, and 1909. That he never won is a major controversy. The Indian government issued his commemorative stamp in the year 1978, to commemorative him and his work.
