Commemorative Stamp of Battle of Quebec of 1759

The Battle of Quebec is also known as the Battle of Plains of Abraham; it took place on 13 September 1759 CE. It was fought on the plateau by the British Army and Royal Navy against the French Army. The Battle of Quebec; was fought outside the wall of Quebec City on the land originally owned by a farmer named Abraham Martin, and hence this battle is called as Battle of Quebec.In this battle, the British troops; were commanded by General James Wolfe, and the French troops; were commanded by General Louis-Joseph, Marquis de Montcalm. The British troops were successful in resisting the column advance to the French troops, by providing extremely effective against standard military formations used in most large European conflicts.
