Morpeth Fair Day Yields a Rare Coin as Donation
2016-07-04 Mon
The Morpeth Fair Day had housed a stall for raising money for a charitable organization called “Out of Sight”, which works for visually impaired children and their families. One of the coins that were donated for the charity was unusual. The reverse of the coin featured a George and the Dragon dated 1966. As per experts, the coin is a 22ct Gold Sovereign coin. Another 1968 coin of the same kind was also found. On further investigation it was found that the coins were rare indeed which contributed £500 to the charity’s funds, precisely its Chloe’s Den appeal.
The officials of the organization were extremely delighted about what they found and thanked the anonymous donor from the bottom of the heart.
Out of Sight is working towards raising £40,000 for a special wheelchair-accessible caravan with a wet room at Amble Links.
