This silver tanka was issued by sultan Rukn Al-Din Ibrahim of the Khalji Dynasty during his rule in Khalji Dynasty. This silver tanka; is listed for INR 2,00,000 in the upcoming auction of Classical Numismatic Gallery that will be held in Kolkatta on 26th December 2021.The Khalji dynasty was the ruling dynasty in Delhi during the medieval period in India. They ruled Delhi between 1290 CE and 1320 CE. The founder of this dynasty was Jalal ud Din FiruzKhalji.
The Khilji or Khalji Dynasty was a Muslim Dynasty having a Turkic origin that ruled north India from 1290-1320 AD. They were the 2nd dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate. Known for assassinators and tyrants, the Khiljis were a powerful dynasty that successfully stopped the Mongol invaders and raided into the south of the country.
This silver tanka minted in Hadrat Delhi was issued by Rukn Al-Din Ibrahim during his rule. The weight of this coin is around 10.90g and it was issued the Hijri year 695.
