The Dnyaneshwari is also referred, as Jnanesvari, Jnaneshwari, or Bhavartha Deepika, written by Marathi saint Saint, Dnyaneshwar in 1290 CE. This book is a commentary on the Bhagawad Gita; considered to be a sacred book. Dnyaneshwar expanded on the 700 shlokas of the Gita into 9,999 Marathi verses. The book also references the Vedas, the Upanishads, other major Hindu texts.Saint Dyneshwar is a Marathi saint, poet, philosopher, and yogi of Nath Vaishnava tradition. The work of Saint Dynaneshwar, considered as oldest surviving literary work in the Marathi language. This book inspired major Bhakti movements, saint-poet such as Eknath and Tukaram.
