2021-10-01 Fri

Today in October 1, 1890, the United States of America established Yosemite National Park. The Yosemite National Park is located in the western Sierra Nevada of Central California. It is bounded by Sierra National Forest and by Stanislaus National Forest. The word Yosemite refers to the name of the tribe driven out of the area by the Mariposa Battalion. The indigenous people settle in this valley were called as Yosemite by the other tribe because they were formed of renegades from the Paiutes. The term "Yosemite" in Miwok is easily confusable with a similar term for "grizzly bear".

Yosemite National Park became the residence for many of the Native Americans. Yosemite National Park is one of the largest and least fragmented habitat blocks in Sierra Nevada, and the park supports a diversity of plants and animals. This national park also gives you a good experience of exploring many things like awe-inspiring vistas, granite icons, breath-taking waterfalls, and discovering fascinating history, all while staying in Yosemite and Mariposa County.
