Akbar Gold Mohur Listed For INR 2,25,000

This gold mohur was issued by Mughal Emperor Abu'l-Fath Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar during his rule in Mughal Empire. This gold mohur is listed for INR 2,25,000 in the upcoming auction of Oswal Antiques that will be held in Lucknow on October 1, 2021.Muhammad Jalal-ud-Din Akbar ruled Mughal Empire between 1556 CE and 1650 CE. He sat on the throne of the Mughal Empire after the death of his father Humayun at the age of 13. Humayun established Mughal Empie after defeating Hemu, a Hindu general of the Sur dynasty in the Second Battle of Panipat, Akbar reacquired the Delhi throne and re-established the Mughal rule.
The obverse side of this gold mohur is inscribed with the name and title of Akbar as “Padashah” in a dotted rectangle. The reverse side of this coin is inscribed with Kalima within the knotted square.
