Azam Shah Gold Mohur Listed at the Whooping price of 18,00,000

Muhammad Azam Shah was the eldest son sixth Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. He was also appointed as the heir apparent to his father in the year 1681. He sat on the Mughal throne after the death of Aurangzeb in the year 1707 CE. In the same year, he was defeated by his stepbrother Muhammad Mu’azzam in the battle of Jajau, who later sat on the Mughal throne by the title ‘Bahadur Shah I’.This gold mohur that weighs around 11.07g was issued by Azam Shah during the first year of his reign in the Hijri year 1119. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Azam Shah with Hijri year 1119. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with RY 1 and the mint name Surat.
This gold mohur is listed for INR 1800000 in the upcoming auction of Oswal that will be held in Lucknow on October 1, 2021.
