Krishnadevaraya Commemorative Stamp

Krishnadevaraya was the emperor of the Vijaynagar Empire; he ruled over most of South India between 1509 and 1529. During his rule, Krishnadevaya earned the title Kannada Rajya Rama Ramana (Lord of the Kannada empire), Moorurayaraganda (king of the king), and Andhra Bhoja(Andhra Scholar King or King Bhoja of Andhra"). Krishnaderaya extended his rule over the parts of present-day Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Northern Tamil Nadu.Krishnadevaraya was one of the most powerful kings of India. He proved to be the most talented general and diplomat as well as architect and city planner. He won a great victory against Bahamani Sultanate.
This commemorative stamp was issued by India in 2011, to commemorate Krishnadevaraya and his work.
