Banteay Srei Temple on Cambodian Note

The Kingdom of Cambodia is situated in Indochinese Peninsula in Southeast Asia. The country’s border touches Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the north, and Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. The capital of the country is Phnom Penh. The official religion of the nation is Buddhism and hence it is a theocratic country.

The National Bank of Cambodia is the central bank of the kingdom and provides regulatory oversight to the country's banking sector and is responsible in part for increasing the foreign direct investment in the country.

The 50 Riels of Cambodian note features Banteay Srei Temple, Norak Singha is spotted on the right side, and the naga serpent on the left side. The backside of the note depicts sluice "Tek Thla", along the National Road No 3. The translated legends on the note are, ’50; National Bank of Cambodia; Fifty Riels; and NATIONAL BANK OF CAMBODIA’. This note is available only for One Hundred and Twenty-Five rupees only.
