Tulsidas is also known as Goswami Tulsidas, he is best known as the composer of the original Ramayana in Sanskrit. He was Ramanandi Vaishnava saint, and poet renowned for his devotion to the deity Rama.Tulsidas was a great Hindu poet, saint, reformer, and philosopher who composed various popular books. The impact of Tulsidas and his work is seen on Indian art, culture, and society. Goswami Tulsidas; spent his entire life in the city of Banaras and also took his last breath in this city.
This commemorative stamp was issued by India with the theme of Tulsidas in the year 1952, to commemorate him and his work.
