Pushkar Fair, Rajasthan Commemorative Stamp

The Pushkar Fair or Pushkar Mela is one of the largest camel, horse, and cattle fairs. It is also known as the Pushkar camel fair held in the town of Pushkar in the month of November, during Kartik Purnima. The Pushkar Fair is celebrated to attract local camels and cattle traders to do business during the holy Kartik Purnima festival.Pushkar Fair is also a significant tourist attraction for both domestic and international travelers. The cultural events and competitions held in this fair include dances, tug of war between women teams as well as men teams, the "Matka phod", "longest mustache" competition, "bridal competition", camel races, and others.
This commemorative stamp is issued by the government of India with the theme of Pushkar Fair in the year 2007.
