Princely State Bindraban Silver Quarter Rupee Sold for INR 14,000

This silver quarter rupee issued by Princely State Brindaban was sold for INR 14,000 in an electronic auction of Todywalla that was held on 8th August 2021. The weight of this coin is around 2.6g and it was issued in the name of the British Queen ‘Queen Victoria’.Brindavan is spelled as Vrindabad, it is a historical city, situated in district Mathura, in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the most sacred places in Vaishnavism. The obverse of this coin depicts the bust of Queen Victoria facing towards the left; karat and scimitar in the left and right side of a bust of the queen, date 1859 at the bottom. The reverse side of the coin is inscribed with the Persian legend.
