Raja Raja-I was the Emperor of Chala kingdom, he was one of the most powerful kings of South India during the medieval period. He is best known for restoring the Chola Empire and ensuring its supremacy in south India and the Indian Ocean. Raja Raja-I ruled Chola Empire between 985 CE and 1014 CE.Raja Raja-I ruled the Chola Empire for almost 30 years and in these thirty years of reign, he made the Chola Empire the most powerful and strong kingdom. Raja Raja Chola marks his reign with a series of conquest to Pandya and Cheras kingdoms. He also acquired Lakshadweep and Maldive Island in the Indian Ocean.
