Khudiram Bose Commemorative Stamp

Khudiram Bose was an Indian revolutionary from Bengal Presidency, he opposed British rule in India. He was the youngest revolutionary of India; his revolutionary activities involved leaving bombs near police stations and making officials his victims. He with his associate Prafulla Chaki made a plan to assassinate, British Judge Magistrate Kingsford.Magistrate Kingsford was famous for his blatant behaviour towards revolutionaries. The bombs did not hit the judge's carriage but hit a different one, leading to the death of two others. His plan failed and both he and his associate were arrested and were hanged to death on 11th August 1908.
Khudiram Bose was born in a little village of West Bengal; he was the son of a Tehsildar. British Policy of Partition of Bengal in the year 1905 dragged him to the war of independence. He got influenced by the thought of Sir Aurbindo and joined Jugantar the party of revolutionary activists at the tender age of 16 years.
