5000 Dong Banknote of Vietnam, 1991

Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia. It is situated at the eastern edge of the Indochinese Peninsula. The country shares a border with China to the north, Laos and Cambodia to the west; whilst maintaining maritime borders with Thailand through the Gulf of Thailand, and the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia through the South China Sea. Hanoi city is the second-largest city and capital of the country.

The bright blue-coloured 5000 Vietnamese Dong banknote features the Tri-An Dam hydroelectric power plant on the reverse side. The portrait of Ho Chi Minh on the obverse side of the 5000 Nam Nghin Dong banknote. The State Bank of Vietnam issued Vietnamese Dong banknotes in 13 different denominations, including this 5000 Vietnamese Dong banknote type of 1991.

The note is a part of the withdrawn Vietnamese Dong banknotes series. The State Bank of Vietnam started issuing these 5000 Vietnamese Dong banknotes in 1991. They were withdrawn from circulation in 2006.
