The Battle of Kursk was the largest tank battle of the Second World War fought between German and the Soviet Union fought in the Eastern Front near Kursk. The Battle of Kursk; was fought between 5th July and 23rd August 1943.It was the fierce tank battle between the Red Army and German invasion forces around Kursk in the central European Soviet Union. Battle was Germany’s last chance to regain all the dominance of the Eastern Front during WWII and would be their final blitzkrieg offensive.
All the plans made by Adolf Hitler; were crushed by the Soviet Union. Germany’s plan to wipe out the Red Army once and for all failed, but not before both sides experienced heavy casualties.
