The golden city Jaisalmer has situated in the city Jaipur; in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Jaisalmer is famous for its rich heritage that reflects its temple, palace, and forts. One such amazing site is the Jaisalmer Fort, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Jaisalmer Fort is also known as Sonar Quilla or Sone ka Quilla (golden fort). The fort stands for its beauty and elegance; it is one of the world's largest forts located in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Sonar Quila is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan. The fort name after the use of golden-yellow Jaisalmer Stone was used for its construction.
This fort was built by Raja Rawal Singh in the year 1156. This fort is considered as the fusion of Islamic and Rajput architecture. This fort is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan and the fort had also been part of many legendary battles. The fort had also been part of the silk trade route from the 16th to the 18th century.
