The Brihadisvara Temple is also known as Rajarajeswaram or Peruvudaiy?r K?vil. The Brihadisvara Temple is a Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is located on the South Bank of river Kaveri in Thanjavur, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, India. The deity of this temple is Lord Shiva in his dancing pose, also known as Natraj.This temple was built by Raja Raja Chola, of Chola Empire during the ancient period in India. This temple is one of the largest temples in India and it is also one of the finest examples of Dravidian Architecture. Today, Brihadisvara Temple is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also known as ‘Great Living Chola Temples.
