2021-05-29 Sat
Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin was the former president of Russia between 1991 and 1999. He was also a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1961 to 1990. When he stood for the independent political leader he was viewed as being ideologically aligned with liberalism and Russian nationalism.Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin won two political elections, when he won his first political election Russia was still the Soviet Union. Though his presidency begins with a free and more open society, he had to deal with economic hardship, increased corruption, and crime, the violent war in the breakaway republic of Chechnya, and Russia’s diminished influence on world events. As a president he supported freedom of the press, permitting public criticism and letting Western popular culture seep into the country. He also played an important role in nuclear arms reductions and brought home soldiers from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet republics.
