Nicholas II was the last Czar (emperor) of Russia; he sat on the throne of Russia after the throne of his father Czar Alexander III, in November 1894. As a king, Nicholas II is characterized as shy, weak, vacillating, and indecisive king. After the death of Alexander II, Nicholas got married to German-born prince Alexandra. Later, after a month of the mourning of his late father, both Nicholas II and Alexandra were crowned czar and czarina in May 1896.

After sitting on the throne of Czar Nicholas II did not manage to handle Bloody Sunday and World War I incensed his subjects and led to his abdication. He lacked the strength of will necessary for such a task.
