Indian Coin Minted in England

2021-05-21 Fri

The one-rupee coin shown above was issued from the Heaton Mint, Birmingham. The H mint mark inscribed below the date on the obverse proves that. This coin is an unpublished and uncirculated specimen, it is probably unique too. This coin has been marked as extremely rare.

The coin illustrates the national emblem on the reverse side with India depicted in English and Hindi script within the hexagon shape dotted border. The obverse of this coin depicts denomination with wheat ears on both sides with denomination and date above and below it within the hexagon-shaped dotted border.

This was actually a trial strike which was estimated the prize of INR 250,000 to 3, and 300,000.
