Joseph Stilwell Commemorative Stamp

Joseph Warren Stilwell was a United States Army general who served in the China Burma India Theatre during World War II. He was the son of a Businessman, born in Florida on 19th March 1883 CE. He served the United States in China Burma India Theatre during Second World War II.During World War I, he served the United States as an intelligence officer in France. He led three tours of duty in China and was in the country when the Japanese Army invaded in 1937. In 1945, during the dark days in Burma, he attempted to re-established control over retreating Chinese troops put the general and his small staff directly in harm’s way.
This commemorative stamp was issued by the United States of America to commemorate him and his work in the year 2000.
