1952 Newspaper Boys stamp of the US
2021-05-04 Tue
The United States Post Office Department issued a special stamp in the year 1952 in recognition of newspaper boys – a challenging job done by boys of the age group of 8-10 years. This was a typical landscape of the American countryside. A little boy riding a bicycle with a huge stack of newspaper will throw one roll full of fresh news even before the sunrise. Though this practice has hidden behind the curtains of time, newspaper delivery was one of the most laudable services offered by little boys of the nation.
Hence, to commemorate the spirit of this service, USPS issued a special stamp worth 3 cents in the year 1952. The stamp depicts a newspaper delivery boy on the left with a landscape of country houses behind him. In the center, the stamp reads, “In recognition of the important service rendered their communities and their nation by America’s Newspaper boys.
