Today Maryland becomes the seventh state to ratify the constitution

On 28th April 1788, Maryland became the seventh state to ratify the constitution of the United States.

Maryland is a state of the United States of America situated in the Mid-Atlantic region. The capital of this state is Annapolis and it is the largest city of this state is Baltimore. Maryland is best known for its blue crabs and the city of Baltimore, a major historic trading port, baseball power, and birthplace of the national anthem.

Maryland played an important role in the history of the United States of America. It was also involved in the protest against the British policy before the outbreak of the Revolutionary War.

Shortly after the Boston Tea Party, Marylanders burned the British ship Peggy Stuart and its cargo of tea in Annapolis. In 1774, during the First Continental Congress, Maryland voted against conducting trade with Britain. This commemorative stamp was issued by the United States of America to commemorate the state.
