Charles II of England Commemorative Stamp
2021-04-23 Fri
King Charles II was one of the most interesting and beguiling rulers. Probably he was certainly volatile and brilliant, and quite possibly lustful and in the grip of dark and foreign powers. He was tall, handsome, and sharp-minded, impeccably attired and charming. He would need all his guile to manoeuvre and survive the tempestuous times in which he ruled. Charles II was the eldest son of Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland and Henrietta of France. Charles II is resplendent in full coronation regalia, including ermine-trimmed robes, crown, sceptre and orb.
This commemorative stamp was issued by Saint Helena to commemorate his 350th anniversary of the Restoration of King Charles II.
