Lord Kartikeya on Portuguese Stamp

On 24th February Portugal Post issued a stamp to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the First Edition of Pilgrimage by Fernao Pinto.Fernao Pinto was a Portuguese explorer and writer. His explorations are known through the posthumous publication of his memoirs Pilgrimage. His memoirs give detailed narrations of his travels to the Middle East, Ethiopia, China, India and Japan. The year 2014 marked the 400 Years of the First Edition of Peregrinacao.
The Stamp features six-headed God Kartikeya on his mount peacock with a serpent. Sailing ships, the copy of his book and an orient knight. The stamp comes in the denomination of 1 Euro.
