Umaid Singh also spelt as Umed Singh was the Maharaja of Princely State Jodhpur. He ruled Jodphur from 1918 CE until his death. He was the second son of Sardar Singh of Jodhpur.Jodhpur was a Princely State during British rule in India. Historically Jodhpur state is known as the Kingdom of Marwar. It was a Princely State under British rule from 1818 CE to 1947 CE. Its capital was the city of Jodhpur since 1450 CE.
Umaid Singh sat on the throne after the death of his elder brother Maharaja Sir Sumair Singh in the year 1918 CE.
This gold mohur was issued by him in the name of George V during his rule of Jodhpur. This gold mohur was sold for INR 55,000 in an electronic auction of Todywalla that was held on 18th April 2021.
