The family of EC polymer notes was launched in May with 20, 50 and 100 Dollars polymer notes. The 10 Dollars banknote was issued in August 2020. The central bank is finally completing the series with a new 5 Dollars banknote which was released recently in March 2021.

All notes are printed in a vertical format on both sides. Each value is in a different colour. The common face has a bust of Queen Elizabeth II and a green-throated Carib, a species of hummingbird. The $5 note is green with a back illustrating Trafalgar Falls in Dominica at the top, and Admiral’s House in Antigua below.

However, the 50 dollars and 100 dollars banknotes depict the former Governor of the ECCB, the late Sir K Dwight Venner and Sir Arthur Lewis respectively.
