Gold Four and Half Masha of Kanhada Deva

Kanhada Deva was an Indian king belonging to the Chahamana dynasty. He ruled the parts of Javalipura, which currently belong to the present-day Jalore, in Rajasthan.Kanhada Deva was the son of Samantasimha, he is known as "Dasam Saligrama" and "Gokulanatha". Both Kanhada Deva and Samantasimha run the administration jointly. The Delhi Sultanate raided the kingdom twice during his reign, but could not capture it.
When Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khalji conquered the fort of Siwana, Khanda Deva fought many battles many him. In 1311, Kanhada Deva was defeated and killed in an attack led by Alauddin's general Malik Kamaluddin.
This gold Four and a half Masha that weighs around 3.4g was issued by Kanhada Deva. This gold coin is listed for INR 2,00,000 in an upcoming electronic auction of Todywalla that will be held on 18th April 2021. The obverse of this coin depicts ‘warrior in Veera-Bhadra asana facing front with head turned to the right, holding a mace or spear in the right hand’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Devanagari Srima Kahadadeva ‘.
