This gold punch-marked Gadayana issued by Western Gangas king is listed for INR 4,50,000 in an upcoming auction of Classical Numismatic Gallery that will be held in Ahmadabad on 24 April 2021.The Western Gangas were one of the most important ruling dynasties of ancient India. They ruled over a large territory of south-western India today between 350 CE to 1000 CE. They ruled the large territory in Karnataka in southwestern India. Their coinage was as lovely as the dynasty. Despite this large area of territory, the kingdom itself was a relatively small one. The kingdom was known to the Gangas themselves as Gangavadi and was centred on the modern Mysore.
