American Civil War Commemorative Stamp
2021-04-12 Mon
American Civil War was a war between organized groups within the same state or country. It broke out between northern states loyal to the Union and southern states that had seceded to form the Confederate States of America between 1861 and 1865. The Civil war is considered as America's bloodiest and most divisive conflict, pitting the Union Army against the Confederate States of America. The principal cause of this war was the status of slavery in the United States, especially in the territories. One of the main reasons for the broke out of Civil War was the uncompromising difference between the free and slave states over the power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become states.
This commemorative stamp was issued by the United States of America to commemorate this event in the year 2014.
