2021-04-06 Tue

George Eastman was an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and the pioneer of popular photography and motion picture film, and a founder of Eastman Kodak Company. He was the person behind the idea of the use of Photographic roll films into the mainstream. He introduces the first Kodak camera and helped to promote amateur photography on a large scale. Before this invention photography was a very difficult task.

Eastman was associated with the Kodak Company in an administrative and a business executive capacity until his death; he contributed much to the development of its notable research facilities. He was also one of the first business owners to introduce profit-sharing as an employee incentive.

This commemorative stamp was issued by the United States of America in the year 1954 to commemorate him for his work.
