This gold mohur minted in Princely State Sawai-Jaipur, issued in the name of Mughal Emperor Alamgir II is listed for INR 60,000 in an upcoming auction of Oswal Antiques that will be held in Mumbai on 25th April 2021. The weight of this coin is around 10.9 g and it was issued during the 3rd regnal year of Alamgir II.Jaipur was Princely State during the British rule in India. It was ruled by the different dynasties in different periods including Mughal Empire and the British. This city was formed by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the year 1728. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City of India.
During the Revolt of 1857, Maharaja decided to remain loyal to the British and sent military forces to assist the British to suppress the uprising in other places. Jaipur was incorporated into the Union of India in 1948 and later became the capital of Rajasthan state.
