Jimmy Earl Carter Jr. was the 39th President of the United States of America from 1977 to 1981. He was awarded as Nobel Peace Prize for his work to find a peaceful solution to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development in the year 2002. He had also served as the 76th governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975. Even after leaving his presidency in 1981, he was engaged in politics and social projects as a private citizen.Jimmy Carter had also served the United States of America as the nation's chief executive during a time of serious problems at home and abroad. His ability to deal successfully with this problem led to an overwhelming defeat in his bid for reflection.
This commemorative stamp was issued by the Grenadines of St. Vincent Centenary of Statue of Liberty in the year 1986 to commemorate him.
