UNPA Against Racial Discrimination

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is 21 March annually. On 19 March 2021 the United Nations Postal Administration is issuing three stamps, on the theme “United against Racism and Discrimination”.

The UNESCO has been at the forefront of the fight against racism since its creation in 1945. In 1978, it adopted the Declaration on Race and Racial Prejudice which reaffirms that “All human beings belong to a single species and are descended from a common stock. They are born equal in dignity and rights and all form an integral part of humanity”.

These stamps are designed by Designer Rorie Katz which depicts a group of people with different ethnicities on a 1.20 USD stamp, a hand with faces of different colored people on 2 Swiss Franc stamp and a small group of people on 1.80 euro stamp. The stamp are engraved with the theme “United Against Racism and Discrimination” in English, French and German respectively.
