James Monroe was an American statesman, lawyer, diplomat, and founding father of the United States of America. He had served the United States of America as a fifth president from 1817 CE and lasted until 1825 CE. The period of his administration is known as the Era of Good Feelings. He is well known for his “Monroe Doctrine”, disallowing further European Colonization in the Americas.

James Monroe studied law and practised law by working under Thomas Jefferson. He started his political career by becoming a member of the Virginia legislature and then a delegate to the Continental Congress. Later, when the United States of America was formed as a new country, he became a member of the U.S congress and then Governor of Virginia. He was one of the most qualified individuals to ascend to the presidency during the 19th Century.
