1917 Australian Stamp Worth $50,000 to be Auctioned

On 29th June, the Collectors Club of New York will be organizing the Summer 2016 public auction to sell United States stamps, U.S. collections, autographs, British North America, British Commonwealth, France, foreign issues etc.The star at the event would be Australia’s 1917 2½-penny deep indigo Kangaroo and Map error stamp, with “1” of the “2½” omitted due to a misprint. A used variety of such a stamp costs $50,000 and as per official reports only fifteen used and unused copies are known to exist. The stamp comes along with a 2015 certificate from the Royal Philatelic Society of Victoria.
