Copper Coin of Gupta Ruler Ramagupta

Ramagupta was the ruler of the Gupta Empire, ruled Northern India. He was the son of Samudragupta and brother of Chandragupta.As king Ramagupta was a fearful king; in one of the wars Ramagupta sustain a humiliating defeat at the hand of Saka King. To save his life he agreed to surrender his queen Dhruvadevi to the Sakas king, which provokes his brother Chandragupta-II.
Chandragupta II, to save Dhruvadevi’s life, enters in enemies’ camp and restores the huge empire, queen, and dynasty. After his incident, Ramagupta was betrayed by his brother and killed. Later, Samudragupta sit on the throne of the Gupta Empire and married the widow of this brother.
