The Bengal Sultanate was the Islamic Kingdom established in Bengal during the 14th Century in the Indian subcontinent on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. It was the first independent unified Bengal Kingdom under Muslim rule. The sultanate was dominated by numerous dynasties of Turkic, Arab, and Persian, Bengali, and Abyssinian origin.Ala al-din Firuz II was the son of Nusiruddin Nasrat Shah, he sat on the throne of Bengal Sultanate after the death of his father. This silver rupee; was issued by him during his reign in Bengal Sultanate. The weight of this silver tanka is around 10.6g and it was issued from the mint Fatehabad. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of the king and the reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name.
