Gold Tanka of Bahamani Sultanate Listed For INR 2,00,000

The Bahamani Sultanate was a Persianate the Muslim ruled the state of the Deccan in South India. It was the first independent Muslim Kingdom founded during the medieval period in India. This kingdom was founded by Ala-Al-Din Hassan Bahaman Shah in the year 1347 CE, with the capital at Gulbarga and later as Bidar. Ala Al-Din Hassan Bahaman Shah founded this empire after revolting successfully against the Delhi Sultanate of Muhammad bin Tughluq.The Bahamani kingdom was ruled by around 18 kings for about two centuries during the Medieval India . The last ruler of the Bahamani kingdom was defeated by Vijaynagar king Krishnadeva Raya after which the Bahamani Kingdom got divided into 5 States around 1518 CE. These five states are collectively known as Nizamshahi of Ahmadnagar, Qutubshahi of Golconda (Hyderabad), Baridshahis of Bidar, Imadshahi of Berar, and Adilshahi of Bijapur.
This gold tanka, issued by king Taj-ud-Din Firuz Shah of Bahamani Sultanate weighs around 11.06. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as Al-Mustansir Billah al-mannan Al-Wathiq bi-ta'yid Al-Rahman Abu'l Muzaffar. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as 'Taj-Al-Dunya wa'l din Firuz Shah Al-Sultan in double pentafoil. This gold tanka is listed for INR 2,00,000 that will be held in Mumbai on 17th January 2021.
