Abraham Lincoln was born on 12 February 1809 in Kentucky near Hodgenville. He was an American Lawyer and Politician; he had also served his country as 16th President of the United States of America. He served the United States of America as a President from 1861 to 1865. He is always remembered as the "Great Emancipator" because he worked to end slavery in the United States. People regard him as one of America's greatest heroes due to his role as saviour of the Union and emancipator of enslaved people. Lincoln's distinctively humane personality and incredible impact on the nation have endowed him with an enduring legacy.
