After becoming president of the United States of America; he had served as Tennessee Legislature and U.S Congress later, he had also served as governor of Tennessee.
The presidentship of Andrew Johnson began; as a period of Reconstruction; in the South, after the Confederacy was defeated and restored to the Union.
