Kalat was a Princely State during the British rule in India. It is located in the central part of the province of Balochistan, today in Pakistan. Kalat, capital of Kalat District and is known locally as Kalat-e-Brahui and Kalat-e-Sewa.The Khanate of Kalat; was founded by Mir Ahmad Khan Qambrani Baloch in the year 1966. It reached its zenith during the rule of Mir Naseer Khan Noori Ahmadzai. It remains under the control of Mir Naseer Khan Noori Ahmadzai until the British government occupied it in the year 1839. In the year 1842, the British Political Agent made possession to the hand of Khan. The state acceded to Pakistan on 27th March 1948. It remained the Princely State of Pakistan until 1955 CE when it was incorporated into the country.
